No matter who you speak to the brand of Ferrari is recognised as being one of the top automotive brands in the world. And to make things even more difficult to catch up for its competitors, Ferrari are going as strong today as they did in the many years gone by. Of course the Formula 1 racing circuit is where the company made its household name, but once they transferred this performance and eccentric behaviour to the open road, things took an even bigger step. The introduction of cars such as the used Ferrari F40, GTO, 328 and the Testarossa meant that Ferrari enthusiasts could get a little bit of Formula 1 mixed with a style and charisma that only Ferrari could provide. Other cars followed such as the used Ferrari 360 Modena, 512 TR and the F355 Spider, all of which further enhanced the popularity of the brand. Ferrari had come an awful long way in such a short space of time. Today’s range of cars is truly amazing and is among the very best units in the world. Owning a new or used Ferrari can be considered a rather astonishing feat because they certainly do not come cheap. In fact, old used Ferrari’s from the past are currently fetching more than some of the brand new models as collectors try to reap the rewards of owning a piece of automotive history. In fact it was UK radio personality Chris Evans who recently purchased a used Ferrari for around £12 million!

Every man and has dog, regardless of the past 2 or 3 generations has heard about the Dodge Viper. And the reason for this is simple; it is a car of extreme class that has managed to combine freakish and lightening speeds with an outer shell design that gives it the look of what many would describe as a “true sports car”. Its aggressive-looking front, coupled with a robust rear that is not to be messed with, all combine in making the used Dodge Viper what it is today; a living legend. And the latest model improves even further on the previous models in the speed department. Its 0 to 60 mph time is an unbelievable 3.5 seconds and its maximum speed is equally impressive (202 mph / 325 km/h). Now bearing in mind that all previous generations of the Viper have provided groundbreaking times of their own, it shows the evolution has very much been a part of the Viper – even if the overall design layout of the car has kept with its original identity. Sure there have been numerous updates design-wise over the years, but regardless whether you are looking at the generation 1 used Dodge Viper or the 2010 version; it is quite clear that this is indeed the superb Viper model. Getting back to speed it must also be noted that this car has been put through some rigorous tests during its time and, even in certain weather conditions, has surpassed the acceleration / speed achievements of well known cars such as the Nissan GTR, Porsche 911 Turbo and the Audi R8. Now if that is not enough to impress you then nothing will be!

Looking at the 300C from either afar or close up, it is clear to all that this is a vehicle with class and charisma. On the face of things there is no real surprises; the exterior is posh and plush, the interior is silk and smooth, and the sound of the engine seems somewhat perfect. Perhaps the only surprise then is the price of the vehicle. As an onlooker you could be forgiven for thinking that this is a car that is out of your price range. After all, its Bentley-looking exterior gives off the impression that this unit is very much at the top end of the price scales. However, this is not the case and, whilst the 300C is by no means “cheap”, it is much more affordable than many would think. And therefore the title of this thread “punching above its weight” is a true and sincere accurate reflection of this Chrysler offering because of this. It is available brand new for £26.995 (standard version / no extras) and used Chrysler 300C models can be picked up for considerably less than that. In fact the second hand used Chrysler marketplace houses some very special offers indeed as buyers begin to realise that the 300C is more within their price range. The overall performance of the vehicle is said to be above average and that the engine operates smoothly. I suppose a good argument would be that this should be the case for a car that looks so luxurious; that it offers a luxurious driving experience also. Somehow it would be hard to imagine something that looks so good with an overpowering engine that is either loud or rough when in motion.

One of the most important elements for car buyers these days is whether or not they are buying a vehicle that is going to perform admirably and be reliable. Also, buyers are now becoming more interested in the after sales service that companies will provide them and what types of service costs are associated with their vehicle. Understanding the needs of the average consumer, Chevrolet is one particular manufacturer that is currently going to great lengths to both satisfy its current crop of customers and, at the same time, entice new ones to their brand. For example on all new Chevrolet vehicles they are offering five years warranty, five years free servicing, five years roadside assistance and even annual vehicle checks and MOT test warranty until your vehicle is five years old. Now without advocating or promoting Chevrolet (I have no ties to this company whatsoever), this to me seems like a pretty astonishing deal if I do say so myself! And with such a good range of vehicles to choose from like the Spark, Matiz, Aveo, Lacetti, Cruze and the Captiva, buyers are also given lots of flexibility when it comes to choosing the ideal car for them. Of course these offers are not available for used Chevrolet cars but even such second hand options still come with low running costs etc. If you check whether the vehicle that you are buying is a quality assured used Chevrolet it will meant even more benefits will come into place. There seems to be something for everyone these days from Chevrolet

We keep hearing through vehicle related media that the world would be a much better place if we didn’t drive our used vans and cars! So, since this great discovery, manufacturers have been working on new engine types in order to make vehicles greener. It is both theirs and the transport industries responsibility to do this as a way of ensuring they are putting measures in place to help solve pollution issues. The thinking behind new van engine types is that the manufacturers need to look ahead and on the basis that oil will not be around forever. Mercedes are the one company extremely active in the area if alternative fuels and are investing huge sums of money into research to see just what they can do. The idea is to decrease bad emissions being polluted into the atmosphere by introducing new alternative fuelled engines. However, don’t get too excited yet guys because it seems things are not as close to the production line as we may think. However, there are functions used by Mercedes on some of their newer models, which are used to provide a greener option. For example one I was reading about recently was a vehicle that switches off its engine once the van is stationed for more than two seconds. Simple, but effective and let’s face it – it is a step in the right direction.

Purchasing a van has now become so much easier given the influx of Van Websites now being promoted on the Internet. Gone are the days of having to travel around local and national dealerships to find your Mercedes Sprinter or Citroen Berlingo! As with most things nowadays, buying a new van is just a click away. But do we prefer to actually view a vehicle before purchase? My guess is yes, but on the other hand, the prices offered via the Web could well bridge the gap between needing reassurance and actually going through with an online purchase. After all, all legalities are in place and peace of mind is assured. In fact, the only real difference is that instead of searching around the country for used vans, you search a Website. Even upon agreement of purchase, the need for travel could well be minimal as the van itself may be transported to your local dealership or even delivered to your door!

In the past everyone got used to the fact that visiting a car supermarket in person is obligatory if you want to buy any car. At times one needed to travel long distances to buy a dream car at an affordable price in a car supermarket. Then the driver needed to spend some time behind the steering wheel driving this new machine back home. Thanks to new technologies it is no longer a must. All one needs to have is the computer and the Internet. As the battle for client and competition is growing in the sales market, some more customer-focused car supermarkets started displaying their stock online with an additional option of door-to-door transportation of the purchased vehicle. So now, one may spend some time browsing offers and selecting the desired vehicle while seating comfortably in their armchair and sipping a cup of tea. Upon the buyer’s final decision, a secure internet transaction takes place and a dedicated company assures the driver that they will see their car on time and at a desired location. It is the car supermarket which holds responsibility for all activities. The only liability on the purchasers’ side is to take a thorough look at the delivered car to make sure all is in perfect order.

Hard to believe as it may seem, difficult or hard times tend to kill one type of businesses and evoke others. This somehow natural business life cycle can especially be seen in the finance market. Obtaining bad credit car loans instantiates the situation almost ideally. Due to the lack of considerable funds for an outright car purchase on the client side, there appears to be more and more companies specialising in the field of bad credit car loans. Anybody interested can find them easily- local newspapers and the internet are teaming with their ads. Not only will those companies and people assist you in getting the approval for the bad credit car loan, they will also direct you to their appointed automotive dealerships where you will be given the chance to select a car to connect the vehicle to – as well as the car financing option best fitting your needs. Some of those specialist companies are made of both finance institutions and exclusive network of dealerships specialising in bad credit car loans and financing programs specifically established for bad credit car loan buyers with credit history problems and unique sub prime auto loan requirements. All these specialist companies are now thriving on the impact of the economic crisis.

Speaking with a few car dealers over the weekend, the common consensus was that 2009 would not see an upturn in fortunes for the industry. In fact, many believe that the market will be in a worse position than it has been in the latter part of 2008. However, with interest rates recently being cut, and with savings being introduced, there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Many believe that it will not be until 2010 that the cars market will pick up once again and consumer spend will increase. The reality is that although buyers are not currently purchasing vehicle as regularly as they did in say 2007, there are still new and used autos being sold. People still need cars and that will never change. The other reality is that many people require finance to complete their purchase and with such options not as readily available anymore, dealers are hoping that 2010 will also be the year that sees a re-influx of car finance and credit offerings be given to consumers. Obviously as things stand this seems quite a while off yet but the belief is that if people and companies can manage to get through the next 8-10 months, they will be in a better position for the future. New cars and used cars sales will continue to be effected and so drivers can only be patient in their quest for an upgraded car. Reports today suggest that many of the UK’s top motor retailers are operating at a loss and have been forced to make some of their staff redundant to coincide with the demise of sales. One of the UK’s biggest has in fact been forced to close a number of their dealerships due to a lack of buying activity. The smaller dealers are the one who have been hit most by the credit crunch and unfortunately many have now gone out of business and ceased their trade in the motor industry.

The value of both new and used cars has taken a bit of a hit over the past year when sales figures have collapsed and sellers, in turn, have been forced to slash their prices to stay afloat. While this has spelt good news for potential car buyers hoping to save on their purchase, it has caused many headaches for those unlucky enough to have their car written off or stolen. These will find insurers that usually pay out only the current market value of the car, which may fall far away of what they actually paid for their vehicle. As a result, numbers of those who have borrowed money to fund their car purchase are turning to a gap insurance solution often referred to as credit negative equity- with a view to protecting values of their cars. All in all, GAP insurance is often perceived as a way of securing new and nearly new cars’ values in case anything unexpected should happen. The problem of rapidly falling car prices deterring buyers is particularly acute for more expensive vehicles, especially from higher mid-range to luxury cars, with prices plummeting down and also the huge depreciation taking place quickly after leaving the showroom, as noticed in research by the AA Financial Services. In conclusion, the GAP insurance and the increasing aware of its use is often seen as a mean of protecting the car value in times when rapid value loss can take place very fast from the moment of purchase.
